Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Plans, organizes, directs and carries out a program of activities for residents as an integral part of total resident care.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to plan, schedule and implement a program of individual and group activities based on residents' needs. Ability to help plan and conduct Residents' Council at least once a month. Ability to plan, schedule and implement room visits and in-room activities for residents unable to leave their rooms. Ability to maintain activity attendance records for each resident. Ability to maintain an adequate supply of materials to implement activity programs. Ability to help plan and implement evening and weekend functions as necessary. Ability to work in inside and outside environmental conditions as necessary. Ability to operate and drive the facility vehicles as needed. Ability to be responsible for the safety of residents. Ability to accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner. Ability to hear, see, feel and speak adequately to perform the functions of the job. PHYSICAL CAPACITIES AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Employees are subject to the risks inherent to working in a healthcare facility. The physical activities of this position involve: balancing, climbing, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive movement, standing and stooping. An individual in this position will be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, respiratory hazards and chemical hazards. These activities must be adequate to perform the essential functions of the job.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School graduate or equivalent
Licensure:
N/A Work Experience:
Aptitude and some training in arts and crafts.
Skills:
Must have the ability to plan and organize recreational activities.
Traits:
Ability to plan and organize activities and work with the elderly. #hc151411
