Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of engaging activities that cater to residents' interests, including arts and crafts, music sessions, games, outings, and themed events. Foster social interaction among residents by encouraging participation and facilitating group activities that promote community bonding. Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to identify individual needs related to memory care, Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, or other cognitive challenges. Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely execution of programs while accommodating residents' preferences and health considerations. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents during activities, ensuring a positive experience for all participants. Maintain accurate records of participation and resident feedback to continually improve program offerings. Skills Strong background in event planning with the ability to develop creative and inclusive activity programs for seniors. Experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes, especially with memory care or dementia care populations. Knowledge of recreational therapy techniques tailored for older adults with disabilities or cognitive impairments. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, staff, and community partners. Ability to assist residents with ADLs compassionately while promoting independence whenever possible. Skilled in schedule management to balance multiple activities throughout the day seamlessly. Familiarity with aging issues counseling and social work principles to support residents' emotional well-being.
