Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Leader to enhance the quality of life for residents in our long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating engaging recreational activities tailored to seniors. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents through creative programming and compassionate caregiving. Responsibilities Develop and implement a variety of recreational activities that promote socialization, cognitive engagement, and physical well-being for residents with diverse needs. Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as mobility, dressing, and personal hygiene as needed. Coordinate with nursing staff and caregivers to ensure activities align with individual care plans and health considerations. Manage activity schedules to ensure timely and organized events, adapting plans based on resident preferences and health status. Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and feedback related to activities. Support social work efforts by counseling residents on aging issues and encouraging social engagement. Collaborate with team members to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that promotes emotional well-being and community involvement. Qualifications Experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care environments such as nursing homes. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and caregiving best practices. Background in long-term care or home & community care is preferred. Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents and coordinate with staff. Ability to assist residents with ADLs and manage schedules efficiently. Experience working with people with disabilities or those requiring specialized memory support is advantageous. Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in enhancing seniors' quality of life through engaging activities. Relevant certifications in social work, aging issues counseling, or related fields are a plus but not mandatory.
