- Full-time Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Director to lead engaging and meaningful recreational programs within our senior living community.
In this vital role, you will create vibrant activity schedules that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being for residents. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a lively environment where seniors feel valued, connected, and inspired to participate in a variety of enriching activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on residents' lives through dynamic programming and compassionate care. Responsibilities Develop, plan, and execute diverse activity programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and health needs, including memory care and dementia-specific activities. Coordinate special events, outings, and recreational therapies that enhance social engagement and community involvement. Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members to assess residents' needs and adapt activities accordingly. Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, exercise classes, games, and educational sessions to promote mental and physical wellness. Manage scheduling of activities to ensure consistent participation while accommodating individual preferences and schedules. Maintain detailed records of resident participation, progress, and feedback to continually improve program offerings. Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages social interaction among residents with diverse backgrounds and abilities. Skills Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior activity programming within assisted living or nursing home settings. Excellent communication skills for engaging with residents with varying cognitive levels and working effectively with staff and families. Ability to assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as mobility or personal care during activities when needed. Skilled in schedule management to balance multiple programs while ensuring timely execution of activities. Knowledge of aging issues counseling and social work principles to support residents' emotional well-being. Experience working with individuals in long-term care environments is highly desirable.
