Job Description

Louisville Gardens located in Louisville, Ohio is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Director to oversee and implement engaging programs that enhance the quality of life for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to create and facilitate a diverse range of activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and execute daily, weekly, and monthly activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Develop and maintain an activity calendar that includes recreational, educational, and therapeutic programs. Lead group and one-on-one activities, ensuring resident engagement and participation. Coordinate with external organizations, volunteers, and community groups to enhance program offerings. Ensure all activities align with state and federal regulations for long-term care facilities. Maintain activity supply inventory and budget effectively. Monitor and document resident participation and feedback to continuously improve programming. Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure holistic resident care.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Recreational Therapy, Gerontology, or a related field is preferred. Certification as an Activities Director (e.g., NCCAP) or willingness to obtain certification. Previous experience in an activities or recreation role, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting. CNA certification preferred. Required to obtain within the first year of employment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with activity planning software is a plus. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and be physically active as needed for activities.
