  • Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Coordinator to energize and enrich the lives of residents in a senior care environment.
This role is vital in creating engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable activities tailored to residents' interests and needs. The Activities Coordinator will plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational programs that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, physical activity, and overall well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors by fostering a vibrant community atmosphere. Duties Develop and implement diverse activity programs that cater to residents' preferences, abilities, and health conditions, including memory care and dementia-specific activities Coordinate with healthcare staff to ensure activities complement residents' care plans and support their physical and emotional needs Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, games, outings, and special events to promote social engagement Assist residents with daily living activities (ADLs), encouraging participation and independence where possible Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a balanced calendar of events that maximizes resident involvement Maintain accurate records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes for continuous improvement Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages social interaction among residents with diverse needs including assisted living and long-term care populations Skills Proven experience in event planning within senior or assisted living settings, with a focus on memory care or dementia care programs Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents with varying cognitive abilities and coordinate with staff and families Knowledge of recreational therapy techniques tailored for seniors, including those with disabilities or aging issues Ability to manage multiple schedules simultaneously while maintaining flexibility for spontaneous activities or adjustments Compassionate caregiving approach combined with expertise in assisting residents with ADLs such as mobility, hygiene, and medication reminders Familiarity with aging issues counseling and social work principles to support residents' emotional well-being Experience working in nursing homes or home & community care environments is highly desirable Join us in creating vibrant communities where seniors thrive through engaging activities that inspire joy, connection, and purpose!
