Job Description
Monarch Gardens Memory Care is looking for an experienced, compassionate, and creative Activities Director to lead and grow our Life Enrichment program in our Memory Care community. We are looking for someone who understands that activities in memory care are about connection, purpose, routine, and creating meaningful moments for our residents each day. The right person will bring energy, leadership, creativity, and strong organizational skills to our team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys engaging with residents, planning events, leading activities, and creating a warm and active environment throughout the community.
Responsibilities Include:
Planning and leading daily activities for residents with varying cognitive and physical abilities Creating engaging programs focused on socialization, sensory engagement, music, movement, crafts, reminiscence, and community involvement Coordinating special events, entertainers, holiday celebrations, and outings Building and maintaining monthly activity calendars Working collaboratively with caregiving staff, nursing, dining, and leadership teams Maintaining activity supplies, documentation, and schedules Encouraging resident participation in a respectful and positive manner Helping create an environment where residents feel valued, engaged, and includedQualifications:
Previous experience in Activities, Recreation, Life Enrichment, or Memory Care required Experience working with seniors and dementia care strongly preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to lead groups and engage residents one-on-one Creative, dependable, patient, and self-motivated Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment Basic computer skills requiredAdditional Information:
Our receptionist assists with creating newsletters and activity calendars, allowing the Activities Director to focus more on resident engagement, programming, events, and the overall activity department.What We Offer:
