Job Description
Assist the Program Director in managing the activities and events within the Teen Center and through community outreach. In particular, the Teen Center Director is responsible for planning and implementing programs related to the Boys & Girls Club of America's five core program areas and recruiting Club teens to participate in the Teen Center programs and events. Prepare teens for success by creating an environment to provide and stimulate program participation, help new members orient to the Club and provide guidance and modeling behavior for members. Effectively implement programs as directed by the Program Director by organizing activities and monitoring outcomes. Teen programs implemented may include Keystone Club, Career Launch, Money Matters, Passport to Manhood and Junior Staff, Smart Girls, homework night, community volunteer and service projects. Ensure programs, services and activities are provided in a safe environment and provide a quality experience for Club Teens. Contribute to the cleanliness of the Teen Center by monitoring the appearance of the facility while performing program activities and completing tasks as assigned. Develop and maintain positive relationships with Club teens and handle problem behavior according to Club discipline policies. Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff, Club teens and the Program Director to exchange information. discuss issues, explain guidelines and provide counsel. Ensure Teens are engaged in activities in their assigned program areas. Planning and implementing a variety of teen programs that may include Teen Late Nights, fieldtrips, dances, all-night parties and other promotional activities. This may include making phone calls, distribution of fliers, promotion in schools and community, etc. Demonstrate good judgment in making financial decisions including daily, monthly and annual reports. Follow procedures when ordering and purchasing supplies and equipment. Responsible for securing facility and following closing procedures when necessary.
