Contract Recreational Therapist

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) - Recreational Therapist (Independent Contractor) AKC Therapy Services is an Indiana Medicaid Waiver provider offering Behavior Management and Therapeutic Recreation services to individuals with disabilities. We are currently seeking a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) to provide person-centered recreational therapy services in community and home settings. This position focuses on improving quality of life, promoting independence, and enhancing functional abilities through adapted recreational activities and therapeutic interventions . Services are provided on a one-to-one basis and include activity planning, implementation, and documentation. Pay & Work Schedule $55.00 per hour starting rate Independent Contractor (1099) Flexible schedule - choose your own hours Ability to select preferred clients No minimum billing requirements Combination of remote work and community-based services Ongoing training and professional support Responsibilities Provide therapeutic recreation services to individuals with developmental or physical disabilities Plan and facilitate adapted recreational activities such as sports, arts and crafts, social activities, and community engagement Develop and implement individualized recreation plans based on client goals Maintain timely and accurate documentation for services provided Participate in service planning and progress reporting as required by Medicaid Waiver guidelines Support clients in building independence, social skills, and leisure skills Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy or Therapeutic Recreation Current Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential Ability to pass state and county background checks CPR and First Aid certification Negative TB test Professional liability insurance Reliable transportation , valid driver's license, and vehicle insurance Additional Information This role is offered as a 1099 Independent Contractor position , and providers will receive a 1099 tax form .
