The Community Program Director understands the importance of creating activities that fit residents' needs and desires to stay physically, intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, and socially active. The Community Program Director coordinates all levels of activity programming and provides supervision, mentoring, coaching and training of ancillary staff in areas of responsibility while following the philosophies and values of Tockwotton. The Community Program Director is also responsible for overseeing the coordination of transportation needs. He/She will also facilitate the effective completion of care plans and RAI documentation concerning activity needs. He/She works cooperatively and respectfully with residents, coworkers, families, visitors and volunteers to create a positive and pleasant environment in the home. This may involve direct problem solving, conflict resolution, and ensuring that the psychosocial and activity needs and desires of the residents are met. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and
ABILITIES
Bachelor's degree in related fields, such as, but not limited to sociology, social work, psychology, recreation, art, music or education. One to three years experience in the planning and delivery of creative and diverse events, activities and programs with older adults. Possesses strong leadership and communication skills. Possesses the ability to nuture core competencies (above) in others through modeling and coaching. Be proficient in the use of computer equipment, software and the world wide web.
