What You Will Do Plan, direct, and oversee all Memory Care operations in compliance with state regulations, company policies, and best practices. Lead and support a person-centered Memory Care program focused on resident dignity, engagement, safety, and quality of life. Recruit, train, coach, supervise, schedule, and evaluate Memory Care associates. Ensure all team members complete required company-specific Memory Care training and state-mandated education within established timeframes. Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and job descriptions. Collaborate with the Executive Director and department leaders to ensure exceptional resident care and service. Develop and manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, and operational goals. Monitor program quality through ongoing audits, assessments, and quality assurance initiatives. Create and implement corrective action plans when opportunities for improvement are identified. Partner with the Activities/Lifestyles team to develop innovative, purposeful programming and therapeutic activities designed specifically for residents living with dementia. Build positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare providers, and community partners. Provide regular reports and recommendations to the Executive Director regarding Memory Care operations and performance. Promote a culture of compassion, engagement, accountability, and excellence. Perform other duties as assigned. Leadership Responsibilities This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for the leadership, supervision, development, and performance management of Memory Care associates. The Memory Care Director is expected to exercise sound judgment, work independently, and serve as a role model for the community. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Gerontology, Social Services, Nursing, Therapeutic Recreation, Human Services, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered. Minimum of two (2) years of progressive leadership experience in senior living, Memory Care, dementia care, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting. Experience managing teams, budgets, and resident-centered programs preferred. Strong understanding of dementia care best practices and person-centered programming. Current CPR certification required. Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and community events as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs throughout the workday. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
