Job Description

The RT Specialist is responsible for creating a safe environment, providing direct supervision, empowers, and teaches new tools for coping to outpatient and inpatient care patients.
Key Responsibilities include:
RT Specialist contributes ideas to ensure patients behaviors are in line with assigned activities. Shows initiative to deal directly with patients with behavior problems throughout the shift. Can identify and utilize individual patient strengths and motivators to encourage positive personal change in patients. Demonstrates reflective listening, an ability to hear what clients and peers are saying for reporting purposes. Understands the need for appropriate client/staff boundaries & maintains a strict therapeutic relationship during treatment.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in social work or related field. • Monitors unit milieu and maintains a safe, therapeutic environment for clients, family members and staff. Modifies milieu according to developmental needs of the clients. Implements interventions appropriate to the developmental needs of the client in accordance with the treatment plan demonstrating sound clinical and professional judgment and competency. • Demonstrates ability to therapeutically interact with, especially difficult, threatening, or resistant clients; able to de-escalate potentially combative or hostile situations. Must possess knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, Verbal De-Escalation, Handle with Care and CPR training.

Respiratory therapy: 1 year (Preferred)
