Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Director/Transport to lead engaging recreational programs and coordinate transportation services within our community. This role is vital in enhancing residents' quality of life by organizing meaningful activities tailored to their interests and needs, while ensuring safe and reliable transportation for outings, appointments, and events. The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and a genuine passion for enriching the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and execute a variety of recreational activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and physical well-being, including arts and crafts, games, outings, and special events. Coordinate transportation schedules to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs for appointments, outings, and community events while maintaining safety protocols. Collaborate with care staff to tailor activities that meet individual preferences and accommodate cognitive or physical limitations such as Alzheimer's or dementia care. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed during events or outings to promote independence and comfort. Manage activity calendars, track participation, and gather feedback to continually improve program offerings. Maintain vehicle safety standards through regular inspections, scheduling maintenance, and ensuring proper documentation. Foster a lively, inclusive environment that encourages social interaction among residents and community members. Skills Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or long-term care settings. Strong background in nursing home or senior care environments with knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia care, and caregiving best practices. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents with diverse needs and collaborate with staff members. Familiarity with recreational therapy techniques tailored for individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments. Ability to manage schedules efficiently while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate approach to aging issues counseling and supporting residents' emotional well-being. Experience working with home & community care services is highly desirable. Pay:
