Primary Purpose
Provide districtwide coordination, instructional support, and program assistance for Fine Arts and PK-12 Social Studies to ensure high-quality curriculum, instruction, assessment, and student opportunities aligned with district goals, state standards, and best practices. Support the continuous improvement of instructional programs, professional learning, compliance, and student performance in Fine Arts and Social Studies.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
Master's degree in Fine Arts, Social Studies, Educational Administration, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field
Valid Texas teaching certification
Special Knowledge/Skills
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of TEKS, curriculum development, instructional best practices, and assessment practices
Knowledge of Fine Arts and Social Studies program standards and operations
Ability to analyze data and use results to support instructional improvement
Understanding of budgeting principles and resource management
Ability to provide instructional coaching and professional development
Proficiency with instructional technology and digital learning tools
Ability to collaborate effectively with district staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders
Experience
Minimum five years successful teaching experience in Fine Arts or Social Studies
Experience in instructional leadership, curriculum development, or program coordination preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instructional & Program Support
Align assigned program functions with district goals to support success for all students.
Support campuses to ensure Fine Arts and Social Studies instruction aligns with state requirements, district curriculum expectations, and instructional best practices.
Provide coordination and support for PK-12 curriculum development, alignment, instructional planning, and assessment practices.
Assist campuses with the implementation of district-adopted instructional materials and resources.
Encourage excellence in academic, artistic, and instructional standards for staff and students.
Serve as an instructional and program resource for Fine Arts and Social Studies faculty and administrators.
Provide instructional coaching, model lessons, and support for effective classroom practices and student engagement strategies.
Professional Learning
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate professional development aligned to district initiatives and instructional goals.
Support Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) through data analysis, TEKS alignment, lesson internalization, and instructional planning.
Data & Program Improvement
Use student performance data and program evaluation measures to support instructional effectiveness and program outcomes.
Assist in developing systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting program data and required documentation.
Compliance & Program Operations
Support compliance with all federal, state, district, and University Interscholastic League (UIL) requirements related to assigned programs.
Assist campuses with scheduling, staffing considerations, and program implementation for Fine Arts and Social Studies courses and activities.
Maintain inventory and assist with oversight of Fine Arts equipment, instructional materials, and related resources.
Serve as a liaison of booster clubs for fine arts Staff Support
Participate in screening applicants and provide input during hiring processes when requested.
Support teacher growth and development through coaching, mentoring, and resource sharing.
Budget & Resource Support
Assist with developing and monitoring program budgets and ensure responsible use of allocated resources.
Collaborate with district and campus leadership to identify staffing, facility, and instructional resource needs.
Student Opportunities & Community Engagement
Promote opportunities for student recognition, performance, competition, exhibitions, and community engagement.
Participate in campus and district committees and support district initiatives as appropriate.
