This role is pivotal in creating engaging programs and activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being for seniors, particularly those in assisted living, memory care, and long-term care settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, event planning, and recreational therapy, with a passion for working with individuals facing aging issues. Responsibilities Develop and implement innovative life enrichment programs tailored to the interests and needs of residents. Plan and coordinate events that foster community engagement and socialization among residents. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure activities align with residents' health and wellness goals. Provide support for residents with Alzheimer's, dementia, and other cognitive impairments through specialized programming. Facilitate recreational therapy sessions that encourage physical activity and mental stimulation. Maintain schedule management for all activities, ensuring optimal participation from residents. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote program awareness and participation. Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed while promoting independence. Conduct assessments to identify individual resident needs related to memory care and social interaction. Qualifications Experience in event planning and coordination within a senior care environment is preferred. Background in assisted living or memory care settings is essential. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and caregiving practices is highly desirable. Familiarity with recreational therapy principles and practices is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members. Experience working with people with disabilities or providing aging issues counseling is beneficial. Ability to manage schedules effectively while being adaptable to changing resident needs. A degree in social work or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
