The BTSALP Education Coordinator works alongside the arts education team to serve BTSALP specialists, teachers, administrators, and K-6 students in the University of Utah region by providing professional development support in the fine arts and arts integration. In this role, the BTSALP Education Coordinator will manage the design, development, and delivery of curriculum for the BTSALP -including ongoing program assessment and improvement—and will promote, support, and facilitate the classes, workshops, seminars, and other training services within the program. The BTSALP Education Coordinator is vital in maintaining strong partnerships with LEAs to meet BTSALP programmatic and University goals in engaging communities, establishing pathways to higher education, and improving quality of life. Responsibilities The coordinator will work in collaboration with their direct supervisor, the professional development team, LEAs, and the Utah State Board of Education, to implement workshops onsite in local schools, at the University of Utah, and various community organizations such as public libraries, etc. The coordinator will serve as a Professional Development Partner and be expected to be present and support in implementing arts and arts-integrated workshops alongside the professional development team during in-service training days and requested faculty meetings. Per our state board of education contract, professional development should include the following: Professional development for BTS Arts LEA arts integration coaches, arts educators, and classroom teachers, where applicable, in the arts and arts integration. Leadership training for LEA arts integration coaches to mentor and train arts educators and build capacity through their individual professional development plans. Mentoring and coaching in the art forms.Communication:
Maintain the University of Utah's BTSALP teacher and principal contact sheet. Serve as the primary contact for BTS Arts teachers and coaches regarding professional development workshops, certificates, arts nights/informances, and supply checkout. Submit payment and reimbursable invoices. Attend monthly professional development partner meetings to assess and respond to regional needs/professional development impacts. Participate in the implementation of programmatic assessment and research, including state tracking and the implementation of services provided via professional development. Attend BTS Arts informances/performances and art nights. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), and two years related experience required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.
