The Activity Director is responsible for creating and delivering a vibrant, engaging, and meaningful activity program that enhances the physical, emotional, and social well-being of residents in an assisted living community. This role combines creativity, organization, and interpersonal connection to foster a warm, inclusive environment where residents can thrive. Key Responsibilities Program Development & Planning Design, plan, and implement a diverse calendar of recreational, social, educational, and wellness activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and cognitive levels. Activities may include arts and crafts, fitness sessions, games, cultural events, outings, and special celebrations. Resident Engagement Build strong relationships with residents to understand their preferences and encourage participation. Promote a sense of community by creating welcoming, inclusive experiences that support socialization and personal fulfillment. Budget Oversight Manage the activities budget responsibly, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support a wide range of programs while maintaining financial compliance. Collaboration & Coordination Work closely with facility staff, volunteers, families, and community partners to coordinate events, secure resources, and support a cohesive resident experience. Lead and train volunteers as needed. Safety & Compliance Ensure all activities meet safety standards and regulatory requirements. Adapt programs as necessary to accommodate residents' physical and cognitive needs while maintaining a safe environment.
