Heritage Hall i s currently recruiting for an Activities Director. This individual will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities department including implementation of planned activities. They participate in the development of residents' care plans; supervise the activities staff including recruiting and selecting new employees and volunteers; and develop quality activity programs for the residents
Activities Director Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Must meet at least one of the following: be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional; be eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional by a recognized accrediting body; have one year of full-time experience (within the last five years) in a patient activities program in a health care setting; be a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or have completed 40 hours of training in group activities and recognizing and assessing the activity needs of residents. Two years experience in a social or recreational program Have a valid Virginia driver's license Be willing to travel overnight occasionally Leadership skills Ability to make independent decisions Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form
