Job Description

Activity Director Full Time Daleville Health & Rehab Center | Daleville, VA The Activity Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing meaningful recreational and social programs that enhance the quality of life for residents. This role promotes resident engagement, emotional well-being, and social interaction while ensuring activities meet the physical, mental, and emotional needs of residents. Key Responsibilities Develop and coordinate engaging daily activity programs for residents. Plan group and individual recreational activities that promote socialization and wellness. Organize special events, holiday celebrations, outings, and entertainment programs. Encourage resident participation and foster a positive, welcoming environment. Complete activity assessments and maintain required documentation. Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy, dietary, and other departments to support resident-centered care. Maintain activity calendars and communicate schedules to residents and families. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to resident activities. Assist with decorating and creating seasonal displays throughout the facility. Monitor supplies and maintain inventory for activity programs. Build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and community organizations. Qualifications Two (2) years of experience conducting social or recreational programs within the past five years preferred. Experience working in a resident activities program within a healthcare setting required. Strong communication and organizational skills. Compassionate, energetic, and resident-focused approach. Ability to lead group activities and encourage participation. High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in therapeutic recreation or activities preferred.
