Job Description

Vanguard Landing is seeking a passionate, organized, and creative Resident Life & Engagement Director to lead the development of meaningful activities, daily programming, and engagement opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This leadership role oversees our Life Skills, Art, and Recreation programs while helping residents build independence, confidence, social connections, and life skills through engaging daily experiences. What You'll Do Lead and supervise our Life Skills Educators, Art, and Recreation Managers Develop and oversee activity calendars, special events, and daily programming Create opportunities that promote independence, socialization, wellness, and community inclusion Help residents discover interests, build skills, and experience meaningful daily routines Collaborate with leadership to ensure activities align with resident goals and support plans Maintain safe, organized, and engaging activity spaces throughout campus
We're Looking For Someone Who:
Has experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs Is a natural leader who can inspire and supervise a team Is creative, energetic, and passionate about building engaging programs Believes in dignity, choice, inclusion, and person-centered support Enjoys event planning, recreation, education, arts, and community engagement Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred Minimum 2 years of experience creating, leading, and supervising programs for individuals with disabilities Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills Why Vanguard Landing?
