The ideal candidate will possess a genuine enthusiasm for engaging older adults through meaningful and enjoyable activities. As an Activities Assistant, you will coordinate and facilitate a variety of recreational programs designed to promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being, with a focus on memory care, dementia care, and assisted living environments. The activities assistant is vital in fostering a vibrant, inclusive community where residents feel valued and supported. Responsibilities Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure activities align with individual care plans and support residents' personal goals. Facilitate group events such as arts and crafts, music therapy sessions, outings, and special celebrations that enhance community involvement. Must be able to drive residents in company vehicles. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents during activities, encouraging participation and fostering positive relationships. Skills Knowledge of assisted living environments or long-term care settings. Experience working with individuals with dementia or memory impairments Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff. Ability to manage schedules efficiently while balancing multiple activities throughout the day. Compassionate caregiving skills combined with patience and empathy for residents. Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
