Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant community as an Activities Director, where your passion for enriching lives and creating memorable experiences will shine! In this dynamic role, you will lead engaging recreational programs tailored to residents' interests and needs, fostering a lively, inclusive environment. Your creativity and organizational skills will inspire residents to participate actively, promoting socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities through innovative activity planning and compassionate care. Duties Develop, organize, and execute diverse activity programs that cater to residents' preferences, abilities, and health conditions, including memory care and dementia-specific activities Coordinate special events, outings, and therapeutic recreational activities that promote social engagement and community involvement Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and ensure activities align with individual care plans Manage scheduling of activities to ensure consistent participation while accommodating residents' routines and preferences Foster a warm, welcoming environment by encouraging participation and facilitating social interactions among residents Maintain detailed records of activities conducted, resident participation, and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness Assist with aging issues counseling by providing emotional support and promoting mental health through engaging activities Experience Proven experience in event planning within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care environments Strong background in senior care, including Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia care, and working with individuals with disabilities Knowledge of recreational therapy techniques tailored for older adults or those with cognitive impairments Previous experience in caregiving or home & community care settings is highly desirable Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents, families, staff, and community partners Ability to manage schedules efficiently while adapting to changing resident needs and priorities Familiarity with aging issues counseling and social work principles related to elder populations This role offers a fulfilling career path for energetic professionals eager to bring joy and vitality into the lives of others.
