- Part-time Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team in providing engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable activities for our residents.
In this vital role, you will facilitate a variety of recreational programs tailored to the interests and needs of our residents. Your enthusiasm and creativity will help foster a vibrant community atmosphere, promote social interaction, and enhance the overall quality of life for our residents. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in a compassionate environment focused on senior care and well-being. This position will help to cover a day or two during the week and then a day or two on the weekend. Responsibilities Facilitiate diverse recreational activities that cater to residents' interests, abilities, and health conditions, including memory care and dementia-specific programs Facilitate engaging group events, individual activities, and special outings that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity Assist residents with getting to and from preferred activities Maintain detailed records of participation, resident progress, and activity outcomes for documentation and care planning purposes Foster a warm, inclusive environment by encouraging participation from all residents, including those with disabilities or special needs Experience Prior experience in assisted living or long-term care environments is highly preferred Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory support programs, and aging issues counseling is advantageous Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home & community care settings is beneficial Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents, families, and team members Proven ability to facilitate activity programs that enhance quality of life for older adults in a geriatric or nursing home setting Join us in creating a lively community where every resident feels valued, engaged, and supported!
