Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Life Enrichment Specialist to enhance the quality of life for residents in our senior care community. This vital role involves creating engaging, meaningful activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities, fostering social connections, and promoting overall well-being. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors, especially those experiencing memory care challenges such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Your dedication will help cultivate a vibrant, supportive environment where residents feel valued, active, and connected. Duties Plan, organize, and facilitate a diverse range of recreational activities and events that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity for residents Develop personalized activity plans that meet individual needs, preferences, and abilities, including those with dementia or other memory impairments Lead group exercises, arts and crafts projects, music therapy sessions, and outings that encourage engagement and joy Assist residents with daily activities (Activities of Daily Living - ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility support during events Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to monitor residents' responses to activities and adjust plans accordingly Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a balanced mix of programs throughout the week Provide counseling on aging issues by offering emotional support and fostering a sense of community among residents Skills Strong background in event planning with the ability to develop creative programs tailored for seniors in assisted living or long-term care settings Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes, especially with dementia or Alzheimer's care Knowledge of recreational therapy techniques that promote cognitive health and emotional well-being Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with residents, families, staff, and community partners Ability to assist residents with ADLs during activities while maintaining dignity and respect Experience managing schedules and coordinating multiple programs simultaneously Compassionate approach to caregiving with an understanding of aging issues and disabilities Familiarity with home & community care practices to support residents' transition between settings Join us in creating a lively atmosphere where seniors thrive through engaging activities designed to inspire joy, foster independence, and build lasting connections.
