Job Description

Description:
Summary While upholding the Star Valley Health mission, vision and values, this position is responsible to provide safe group and individual activities for residents. Duties will involve personal contact with a varying resident population and a varied work schedule that may include some weekends, evenings, and holidays. Resident safety is a primary focus. This is an "at will" position. Job Duties Plan and administer ongoing activities programs. These include both group and individual social activities, outings, spiritual programs and creative, artistic activities. Encourage resident participation in activities and procure the necessary equipment and supplies and provide for their accessibility through organized storage. Chaperone scheduled activities away from the facility. Complete resident interviews in a timely manner as requested by the Activity Director. Follow state, federal, and facility policies and procedures as described in designated manuals. Foster family and community support of the activity program (newsletters, networking, etc). Participate in facility quality improvement efforts. Participate in committees as assigned. Execute other duties as needs arise.
Requirements:
Requirements Abilities & Skills:
Good verbal and written communication skills, evidence of effective problem resolution skills, ability to maintain composure in stressful situation and resourcefulness. Promotes a cooperative and congenial working environment around patients, colleagues and guest of the Care Center. Ability to make decisions and accept responsibility for the consequences. Ability to coordinate and conduct meetings, able to set and achieve goals. Ability to be organized and efficient. Basic computer skills. Assists with transport of residents to and from the activity area, minimal assist with transfers, walking and wheelchair transfers. Comply with HIPAA and other federal, state and local regulations as well as maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in patient and staff matters Flexible schedule.
Experience & Education:
High school graduate or GED equivalent. Holds a valid driver's license and driving record which meets the insurance standards Current CPR Card.
