1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level IV Trauma Critical Access Hospital in Kodiak, AK, with an active Alaska RN license required. Details Acute care medical/surgical unit within a 46-bed acute care, 22-bed long-term care Critical Access Hospital designated as a Level IV Trauma center 3x12-hour shifts (days or nights); shift assignment is based on facility needs at time of start and caregivers are not typically required to rotate between day and night shifts Weekend availability required Floating within scope to other facilities within the state is expected; refusal to float may result in assignment termination No on-call required Charting performed in Epic (experience required) Free parking on-site Facility provides housing (typically a 1-bedroom apartment) and a vehicle for use during the assignment Requirements Active Alaska (AK) RN license currently in hand Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required Epic EMR experience required Valid driver's license and proof of insurance (including rental car coverage) required to operate the facility-provided vehicle At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration Full SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler RTO requests are considered but should be minimal for this position Pets are not permitted in facility-provided housing Housing is intended for the traveler only; accommodating additional family members requires prior facility approval Housing unit must be cleaned upon departure to avoid additional fees billed to the traveler The facility-provided vehicle is for local use only (within 30 miles of the facility) and must be returned with a full tank of gas and cleaned before departure Only the traveler is authorized to operate the facility-provided vehicle; tire chains, if needed, are an additional cost to the traveler Scrub color is open (any color) or business casual attire is acceptable
