YesPOSITION SUMMARY
Oversees Employee Health Services for all of the Maniilaq Health Center and their respective designated category 1 and 2 employees. The Employee Health Nurse maintains a close working relationship with Human Resources for the quality assessment/ improvements of employee relation functions. The Employee Health Nurse endeavors to promote health and safety to all employees by facilitating an Employee Health Program which includes disease detection, prevention and treatment; following up on employee illnesses and injuries; conducting employee health screenings; and, promoting a safe work environment. This position reports to the Infection Prevention Manager and covers for Infection Prevention activities when manager as needed.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts new on-hire screenings and annual employee health screenings to include health history, immunizations update, and brief physical assessment. Refers employees with identifiable limitations, and/or health risks to appropriate resources. Offers health promotion incentives and educational materials. Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure completion of all health screenings. Conducts surveillance and follow- up of employee exposures to communicable diseases. Plans, implements and conducts annual Flu Vaccine Program. Plans, implements and conducts COVID vaccine program for MHC employees. Plans and implements other vaccine programs as directed by APIC, OSHA, CDC and other regulatory agencies, to include Tetanus and MMR. Conducts TB screenings for all new employees, current employees, and volunteers according to the Hospital TB control plan and/or at least annually. Conducts follow-up testing for all employee TB exposures. Trends employee illnesses/injuries to identify safety and health issues. Demonstrates awareness of an adherence to legal requirements pertinent to employee health and safety. Participates as an active member of the Infection Control Committee and on hospital-wide committees at the request of executive level management. Works with MHC Safety Officer to ensure proper reporting and filing of Worker's Compensation. Produces clinical services for new employees as outlines in the "Employee Health Policy" Maintains Employee Health Records and database. Maintains professional ethical standards of conduct at all times. Demonstrates engagement in customer service by promoting and evaluating the AIDET program. Develops program continuous performance improvement (CQI) using the PDSA model. Provides written board reports that capture program activities and CQI. Participates in professional organizations such as American Association of Occupational Health Care Professionals (AHOP) and continuing education to remain current in evidence based best practice.Job Qualifications:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Graduated from and accredited RN or LPN Program with at least three years of experience. Must have an LPN/RN license in good standing. BLS and others as determined by the CNO. Must be able to pass the core competencies assigned to this position, those of an RN or LPN at MHC, and maintain the educational requirements of the department. Ability to utilize various computer programs, including RPMS, EHR, Microsoft Office, and Excel database programs. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
