About Regent Surgical Health Since 2001, Regent Surgical Health has been a leader in developing and managing successful surgery center partnerships between hospitals and physicians. We continually improve and evolve the ASC model based on changing market conditions to stay ahead of emerging trends. From this vantage point, our team has developed proprietary ASC ownership models that give both physicians and hospitals what they need to ensure long-term clinical and financial success.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Pre Admission Testing RN (PAT) acts as a patient advocate, providing continuity of care designed to meet individual patient needs through collaboration with other members of the health care team of the Surgical Center. The PAT RN supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the Surgical Center, and works closely with physician offices to obtain pertinent information in order to provide quality care to individual patients. This is a full-time position! No Calls! No Weekends! No Holidays!
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients during patient interview. Develop, discuss, and communicate a realistic plan of care for each patient, in collaboration with each patient, family, and significant other to address all identified needs during the preadmission process. Demonstrate the skills and judgement necessary to implement medical plans of care, nursing interventions, and procedures necessary for the care of the patient. Work closely with the anesthesia provider to pre-screen patients with health concerns by sharing lab results, physical assessment, or special needs of individuals with medical issues prior to the date of surgery. Evaluate and reassess the identified issues, care provided, and patient's responses to meet patient, and family needs to ensure overall quality of care delivered. Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team to ensure quality care and communicate any potential concerns with team members as needed. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Follow the Center exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens. Communicate arrival time and NPO instructions to patients as prescribed. Communicate special physician orders, and ensure patient charting is completed in an accurate, concise, and timely manner. Will be cross trained to pre-op and PACU and work in those areas when requested. Respond to telephone inquiries regarding expressed needs of the caller. Thoroughly document all call encounters utilizing manual and/or online information systems at the time of the call Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current RN license in appropriate State Minimum of two years nursing experience BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (as required by individual ASC policy)
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree ASC experience
