Registered Nurse (RN) - Long Term Care (LTC)
Wrangell, Alaska Salary:
$99,000 - $128,000 Annually 25k Sign on bonus Medical Edge Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Long Term Care team in Wrangell, Alaska. This opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on residents' lives while working in a supportive healthcare environment. Position Summary The Registered Nurse coordinates and provides professional nursing care for residents in a long-term care setting. The RN is responsible for assessing resident needs, developing and implementing care plans, administering treatments and medications, supervising support staff, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure exceptional resident care. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans. Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions safely and accurately. Monitor resident conditions and respond appropriately to changes in health status. Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Provide resident and family education regarding treatments, care plans, and health conditions. Supervise and delegate duties to LPNs, CNAs, and support staff. Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records documentation. Participate in care conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings. Ensure compliance with nursing standards, infection prevention protocols, and regulatory requirements. Assist with emergency response and resident safety initiatives. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN). Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in a U.S. state. Ability to obtain or hold an active Alaska RN license. Current BLS certification required. Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferred. Long Term Care, Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation, or Geriatric Nursing experience preferred. Strong assessment, communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
