Job Description

Lee Obstetrics and Gynecology is committed to our mission of providing quality, attentive, responsive care for the women of Lee County and the surrounding area. To put the patient's health and well-being first and promote women's health in all that we do. We are looking for an on-site RN or LPN to perform telephone triage, provide patient education, manage medication requests, and coordinate care specifically related to women's health issues, all while maintaining meticulous documentation in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Core Responsibilities Telephone Triage:
Assess patients' symptoms and concerns over the phone to determine the urgency of their condition and route them to the appropriate level of care (e.g., home care, scheduled appointment, or emergency services).
Patient Education:
Educate patients on a variety of women's health topics, including prenatal care, postpartum support, contraception options, medication management, and self-care instructions.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential records of all patient interactions, assessments, and recommendations within the EMR system, adhering strictly to HIPAA guidelines.
Medication Management:
Assist with prescription refill requests per established protocols and provide education on dosages, purpose, and potential side effects of medications.
Care Coordination:
Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care, including scheduling appointments, diagnostic testing, and hospital admissions.
Handling Inquiries:
Address patient questions and concerns regarding test results, procedures, and general health inquiries in a professional and empathetic manner.
Protocol Adherence:
Follow established clinical protocols and standing orders to provide consistent, evidence-based guidance and escalate issues requiring a provider's action.
Required Skills & Qualifications Education/License:
A valid, current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
Specialized Knowledge:
A strong understanding of obstetrics and gynecology medical terminology and health concerns.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly and empathetically over the phone.
Technical Proficiency:
Competency with call center software, phone systems, and electronic health record (EHR) systems is essential.
Interpersonal Skills:
Empathy, patience, and a customer-centric approach are critical for supporting patients through sensitive and sometimes stressful situations.
Problem-Solving:
The ability to handle a high volume of calls efficiently, prioritize tasks, and manage emergency situations effectively. "We're an equal opportunity employer.
