Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care provided to patients, both pediatric and adult, with congenital heart disease. Has specialized knowledge in the care of patients gained through formal education or several years of on the job training. Is autonomous regarding nursing interventions, acting as an accountable advocate for patients; works within their prescribed Health Services Foundation policy ad medical therapy. Coordinates activities with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Position Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree in Nursing required. Five (5) years of outpatient or inpatient clinical care of pediatric patients Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferred:
Three (3) years of outpatient or inpatient clinical care of congenital heart disease patients.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment.
