Full-time Position Purpose:
The RN, under supervision of the Unit Director and the Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the nursing care of the patients in the Intensive Care Unit and is responsible for the direction of patient care. The RN delivers care based on age specific patient needs. Demonstrates an interest in patient centered approach to total nursing care. Demonstrates cooperation, flexibility, and resourcefulness when dealing with patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnel. The RN shall be responsible for the six steps of the nursing process which includes: assessment, nursing diagnosis, identification of patient outcomes, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Education:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
Experience:
Desirable characteristics include at least one year of experience in Critical Care. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned position. The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training or experience.
Licenses/Certificates:
Current Alabama license. Current BLS and ACLS required. ACLS within 6 months of hire.
