Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-MS Job Type Contract Deliver exceptional patient care within a large, 492-bed hospital setting as a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) and trauma units. This contract role requires a skilled clinician to support a range of nursing units, each with diverse patient populations—ranging from trauma surgical, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedics, to urology.
Schedule & Shift Details:
Contract duration: 80-5 Days 12-hour day shifts (36/48 hour weeks) Shift start: 7:00 am Every other weekend rotation or 4 weekend days per month No on-call; must be available for one major and one minor holiday per policy What we look for: Active RN license Minimum 18 months' recent experience in Med-Surg and/or ICU Trauma/surgical experience (at least 1 year), wound care, chest tube, NGT, IV, and medication administration skills EMR expertise: Cerner preferred, Epic considered (required for first-time traveler with Med-Surg experience) BLS and NIHSS certifications Strong assessment, prioritization, and documentation abilities Telemetry interpretation skills (required every 4 hours) Chemo certification preferred for Med-Surg/Oncology assignments Will consider first-time travelers meeting experience criteria
Duties Include:
Delivering direct patient care on various units (e.g., trauma, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedics, decision units) Administering medications, performing wound and chest tube care, managing drains and lines Trach, PEG, NGT care, foley and ostomy management Monitoring, interpreting, and confirming telemetry strips per protocol Collaborating with interprofessional teams, including CNAs, phlebotomists, IV/VAT teams, and hospitalists Floating to like-units as needed
