Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-ER Job Type Contract This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs who thrive in high-acuity settings. The facility features a 71-bed Level II Trauma ER—operating at the intensity of a Level I—caring for complex cases, including multi-system trauma, STEMI, stroke, CHF, COPD, GI, GU, OB/GYN, pediatrics, and behavioral health. The contract begins July 20, 2026, and concludes October 17, 2026.
Schedule/Hours:
12-hour shifts, 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Weekend rotation:
Every other weekend or 4 weekend days per block schedule Holiday coverage: One major and one minor holiday per policy (dates not guaranteed off in advance) 4-week scheduling cycle Up to seven days of pre-approved time off (except blackout dates) No on-call requirement
Qualifications:
Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years recent critical care experience (ICU, ER, or med-surg hold) At least 1 of the most recent years in a Level II Trauma ER or higher (required for experienced travelers) Familiarity with Cerner or
EPIC EMR
preferred Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and nationally recognized Secure/CPI Strong skills in trach and vent care, ICU drips, art lines, CVLs, PICC/midline/port management, foley and BL irrigation, ortho device care, and BiPAP/hi-flow therapy
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive ER nursing care to diverse, high-acuity patient populations Utilize critical thinking to quickly assess, triage, and implement appropriate interventions Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including CNAs, charge nurses, IV/VAT teams, and hospitalists Adhere to best safety and infection control protocols
Additional Details:
Support staff includes CNAs (1:12), charge nurses, IV/VAT team, and phlebotomy
