3 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a night shift Psychiatric position in Northport, AL, requiring 2 years of experience and an active AL or compact RN license. Details Acute inpatient psychiatric unit (North Harbor) at a medical center in Northport, AL Serves adult patients (ages 18+) and geriatric patients requiring 24-hour acute inpatient psychiatric treatment and care Geriatric program focuses on short-term acute care with close monitoring by a multidisciplinary team Patients are seen daily by a psychiatrist and other mental health professionals Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM 36 or 48 hours per week Every other weekend required Holiday coverage required Floating to other units and hospitals is required
EMR:
Meditech (experience preferred but not required) Requirements Active AL state or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted No hits (past or current) on RN license permitted Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification required Minimum 2 years of RN experience; candidates with 18 months may be considered if working at the highest level of professional licensure At least 1 year of recent experience in psychiatric nursing required Current driver's license required for consideration Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration NURSYS license verification required for consideration Additional Information Team utilizes sensory reduction tools to support anger management, coping skills, and de-escalation Multidisciplinary team approach with a strong focus on both physical and emotional health outcomes No HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation Solid navy scrubs required Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions Parking is available on-site
