As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and flexible Infusion Nurse (RN) to support our infusion services. About Your Role The infusion nurse possesses extensive clinical expertise, including experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Athenahealth. This role involves providing high-quality patient care across various settings, including hospital, outpatient, long-term care, and community health environments. Specialized skills in critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, or hospice & palliative medicine are required. The infusion nurse will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, medication administration, wound care, IV infusion, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and infection control standards. What you will do
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
  • Administer medications and injections accurately following medical orders and aseptic techniques.
  • Manage airway support including ventilator care and oxygen therapy; perform tube feeding and catheterization as needed.
  • Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation of medical records and patient data.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations including specimen collection/processing, laboratory testing, sonography, and radiology procedures like mammography or spinal taps.
  • Provide specialized care for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, patients with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
  • Assist in discharge planning, case management, and health coaching to promote optimal recovery and health maintenance.
  • Maintain infection control protocols and sterile processing standards; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care settings such as Level I & II trauma centers or surgical units; participate in trauma medicine or emergency room procedures.
  • Support post-acute care initiatives, including home & community care, hospice & palliative medicine, or sub-acute care environments.
  • Educate patients on health management strategies including nutrition, pain management, family planning, dermal fillers (if applicable), and ostomy care.
  • Patient scheduling
  • Clinical supplies inventory and ordering
  • Review and verify prior authorizations; prior to medication administration
  • Specified staff responsibilities as assigned
  • All other duties as assigned What qualifies you for the job
  • Valid RN license in the state of practice with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Proven experience working in hospital medicine, ICU/CCU/PICU settings or emergency medicine; familiarity with Level I & II trauma centers preferred.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks; experience with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) and CPT coding is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology; skilled in diagnostic evaluation and medication administration.
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations including children (neonatal ventilator), seniors (memory/dementia care), or individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to perform complex procedures such as suturing, sterile processing techniques, IV insertion/infusion, catheterization, tube feeding, gastrostomy management.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams; compassionate approach to patient-centered care.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening prior to employment.
