Job Description

Category Nursing•RN-MS Job Type Contract Advance your nursing career in a dynamic environment specializing in adult Med-Surg care. This contract position welcomes both experienced and first-time travelers, offering structured orientation and exposure to a variety of specialized units.
Schedule & Hours:
12-hour day shifts, alternating 36 and 48 hours per week Shifts run 7:00 am•7:00 pm Weekend rotations required (every other or 4 weekend days per 4-week cycle) Holiday coverage expected per policy (one major and one minor holiday) No on-call requirement
Qualifications:
Active RN license (Nursing•
RN-MS, RN
•Med Surg) Minimum 18 months of experience in MedSurg and/or ICU; EPIC or Cerner EMR experience preferred (Cerner required for ICU backgrounds) BLS and NIHSS certifications mandatory Strong skills in wound care, IV administration, chest tubes, NGT care, and medication management Telemetry experience preferred—please elaborate on specifics if applicable
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver safe, effective care to patients across trauma surgical, neuroscience, MS/Oncology, clinical decision, orthopedic, and urology specialties Perform comprehensive assessments, manage priority tasks, and document thoroughly using Cerner Administer medication, initiate IVs, complete wound, trach, ostomy, and chest tube care Collaborate with CNA support staff, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary teams Interpret telemetry strips every four hours Float to similar patient care units as operationally needed
Unit Details:
Beds range from 18 (Clinical Decision) to 39 (MedSurg/Oncology) Patient ratios typically 1:5-6 Support includes CNAs, reception, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, Hospitalists, and Telemetry monitoring techs
