Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team. In this role, you will provide primary nursing care, manage resident care plans, and supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) on your unit. This position is ideal for an RN who enjoys building long-term relationships with residents, has strong clinical instincts, and wants to make a meaningful difference in long-term care and short-term rehabilitation.
Responsibilities Direct Resident Care:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care of residents in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards.
Medication Administration:
Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies accurately and safely according to physician orders and facility protocols.
Care Planning:
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop, review, and update comprehensive, individualized resident care plans.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely electronic health records (EHR) regarding resident conditions, medication administration, and clinical changes.
Leadership & Supervision:
Supervise and delegate duties to LPNs and CNAs on shift, ensuring the highest standards of safety and care are met.
Emergency Response:
Recognize changes in residents' clinical conditions promptly, respond to medical emergencies, and notify physicians and family members as required.
Admissions & Discharges:
Assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharge planning, ensuring accurate reconciliation of medications and care instructions.
Qualifications License:
Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama (or multi-state compact license).
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN).
Certification:
Active CPR/BLS certification required.
Experience:
Prior experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Long-Term Care (LTC), or acute care setting is highly preferred, but passionate new graduates are welcome to apply.
Skills:
Strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication, and a patient, empathetic demeanor.
Systems:
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software (e.g., PointClickCare) is a plus.
