Assists physician in conducting diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures while maintaining sterile field. Administers medications based on physician order. Monitors and analyzes hemodynamic data. Transports patients. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff. Monitors and analyzes performance improvement activities. Reviews inventory and restocks work areas. Responsible for service charges utilizing CVMC's information systems. Responsible for archival of patient exams with correct patient information. Provides nursing care, clinical expertise and education for patients and families. Demonstrates critical thinking approach to patient interview, health assessment, nursing diagnosis, and nursing intervention by utilizing nationally recognized standards of care for diagnostic and interventional catheterization labs and other surgical procedures. RN is responsible for managing, coordinating, and delegating all aspects of critical care nursing provided to patient, family, and community in a timely and cost effective manner. Delivers patient care in a collaborative manner by including patient, family and all other health care team members. Qualifications for the job... One to two years experience in critical care nursing with knowledgeable application of arrhythmia identification and intervention required. Experience in patient teaching preferred. Catheterization Lab experience preferred. Must demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology. Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to effectively interact with all health team members. Must be able to effectively communicate with employees, patients and MDs. Basic computer skills necessary. Strong analytical skills a must in order to appraise a situation quickly and make a decision based on experience and knowledge. Must be able to set priorities, co-ordinate and organize multiple tasks and maintain control of workflow.
