Position Summary The role of the Wound Ostomy Nurse reports to the Unit Manager. This position is responsible for providing education and care to patients with wounds, continence-related problems, and ostomies. Essential Position Responsibilities Assist in establishing and maintaining policies and procedures related to wounds, ostomies, and continence Assessment of patient needs related to wounds, continence related problems and ostomies Collaborate with members of the patient's healthcare team to develop plan for care while hospitalized Educate patient and/or caregiver on post-discharge care
Qualifications Education:
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program
Licensure and Certifications:
Arkansas Registered Nurse license & CPR, required.
Experience:
Minimum two years of experience in a medical/surgical setting, preferred.
Work Environment :
This position will spend approximately 80% of the time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs and 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position may have exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
