Job Description

Overview Join our cardiac team as a Pre and Post Operative Nurse, where your expertise will be vital in delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you will prepare patients for surgery, monitor their recovery, and ensure seamless communication between surgical team and patients. Your dedication will help foster a safe, comfortable environment for individuals undergoing varies cardiac procedures such as peripheral angiograms and AICD placement. Duties Assess patient readiness prior to surgery, including vital signs, medical history review, and ensuring adherence to preoperative protocols. Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, postoperative care instructions, and recovery expectations to promote informed participation. Monitor patients' vital signs and physiological responses during recovery, promptly addressing any signs of acute pain or complications. Manage IV infusions, medication administration, and catheter care to support optimal patient outcomes post-surgery. Document all patient assessments, interventions, and observations accurately within electronic health record (EHR) system. Coordinate discharge planning by providing detailed instructions on wound care, medication management, and follow-up appointments to facilitate smooth recoveries. Requirements Valid RN nursing license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction. Valid ACLS certification Ability to perform physical examinations and vital sign assessments efficiently under pressure. Critical care experience in ICU or emergency medicine is preferred to handle complex postoperative situations effectively. Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
