1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist (CVOR Tech) for a hospital-based cardiovascular OR position requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience and on-call availability. Details Hospital-based CVOR setting Cardiovascular surgical patient population Schedule is 5x8-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM On-call is required for this position Holiday coverage and availability during inclement weather are expected Requirements AR or Compact RN license currently in hand Current BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required — this requirement is firm High school diploma or equivalent required Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, and twist for 8-12 hours per shift Must be able to occasionally lift 50+ lbs of equipment and assist with patient lifts of 125+ lbs using proper body mechanics Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations, including CPR and emergency equipment retrieval Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure 2 supervisory references from within the last 3 years of employment are required for consideration Additional Information Responsibilities include setting up the OR, preparing and transporting patients, passing instruments and supplies, holding retractors, cutting sutures, and counting sponges, needles, and instruments Works under the supervision of surgeons, RNs, or other surgical personnel Must be proficient in a wide variety of high-level surgical technologist skills and adhere to all perioperative care standards The facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana — a positive result is an automatic cancellation with no exceptions; candidates should avoid anything that could produce a positive result, including CBD products This position is designated as safety-sensitive under Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
