Job Description
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a critical support role to the Director of Nursing (DON). This position involves comprehensive involvement in planning, developing, organizing, directing, and evaluating the Nursing Department's services and activities. The ADON ensures that operations are harmonious across departments, emphasizing a holistic and rehabilitative approach to maximize resident independence. In the DON's absence, the ADON assumes supervisory responsibilities to maintain department functionality and compliance with regulatory standards.

Leadership and Supervision :
Assist in managing daily operations and support strategic planning and evaluation of nursing services.Regulatory Compliance and Quality Improvement :
Establish objectives and standards for nursing in compliance with regulatory requirements. Conduct quality indicator audits for improvement.Resident Care Oversight :
Conduct resident rounds to monitor care quality and directly involve in patient care as needed.Staffing Management :
Ensure efficient staffing to meet resident needs and manage the department in the DON's absence.Communication and Collaboration :
Facilitate communication about resident status changes and establish rapport with all stakeholders.Policy and Procedure Implementation :
Implement nursing care standards and policies, working the floor when necessary.Professional Development and Training :
Lead nursing staff training and development, promoting excellence and continuous improvement.Qualifications:
Unencumbered, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arkansas or a compact license. Recommended advanced education and/or managerial experience in nursing. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in a healthcare setting. Commitment to elder care and ability to work with diverse personality types. Competent decision-making skills with creative initiative and mature judgment. Proficiency in computer applications relevant to job duties.
