Position Details:
Mercy Rogers New-Graduate Nurse Residency
Mercy Northwest Arkansas offers a transition-to-practice nurse residency program designed to support the newly licensed nurse as you transition from student to confident and independent professional nursing practice. This structured, evidence-based program offers comprehensive and individualized department orientation, hands-on clinical training and ongoing mentorship to ensure a smooth and successful entry into your professional career. The program provides collaboration with experienced preceptors, targeted educational sessions, and a supportive environment that fosters critical thinking, clinical judgment, and professional growth.
Eligibility:
Required Experience:
12 months or less of nursing experience
Required Education:
Nursing Degree from an accredited school
License:
Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current nursing license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
Certifications - Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association

Program Start Date:
The residency program is set to begin September 28th, 2026. Orientation will be during the first 2 weeks and will be Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
Duration:
The program lasts one year, providing extensive support and training to help new nurses navigate their first year in practice and prepare them for a lasting and fulfilling professional career.

ED
The Emergency Department is a 24-bed unit providing care to a highly diverse patient population within a Level III trauma setting. The department cares for a wide range of acute and complex conditions, including post-operative cardiac cases (CABG/valve), neurosurgical patients, trauma, renal, and general medical emergencies. As a Level III trauma center, the ED delivers rapid stabilization and emergency care while coordinating advanced treatment when needed.

A 36-bed challenging, fast paced unit where you can expect to provide care of patients with various heart dysrhythmias, acute and chronic heart conditions like heart failure and STEMI/NSTEMI, post cardiac catheterization care, post vascular and thoracic surgical care, as well as sepsis and other infectious disease processes.
Career Path:
An excellent option for nurses interested in pursuing a career in critical care or cardiac catheterization lab.

Cardiac/Neuro is a 24-bed unit specializing in cardiac and neurological support and care for patients suffering from stroke, seizures, altered mental status, and/or cardiac arrythmias such as atrial fibrillation.
