Job Description

Overview Registered Nurse - Med Surg | Fort Defiance, Arizona. This travel assignment is in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting.
Start date:
06/01/2026 for 13 weeks.
Weekly pay:
$2,121-$2,190 per week.
Guaranteed hours:
36 per week.
Shift:
12-hour night shifts (3x12). Unit serves adults, geriatrics, and pediatric patients on a 20-bed Med-Surg service. The role may require flexibility to cover weekends, holidays, and on-call status, with occasional cross-coverage or light flu-immunization support as needed. Shift:
12-hour night shifts; flexibility for weekends/holidays Start date: 06/01/2026
Setting:
20-bed Med-Surg unit in a short-term acute care environment serving adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients Responsibilities Provide direct patient care for adult, geriatric, and pediatric Med-Surg patients per RN standards Monitor, assess, and document patient status; administer medications and manage IVs and infusions Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans; coordinate admissions, discharges, and patient education Recognize changes in patient condition; respond promptly to call lights and emergencies; document care accurately Support float coverage to other departments if qualified; participate in on-site staff meetings and, when assigned, flu immunization clinics
Requirements Certifications:
American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of Med-Surg experience; at least 1 year of pediatric experience; must be comfortable with both adult and pediatric patients Shift flexibility: Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; willing to work weekends and holidays as needed
