Job Description

Position Summary Join the founding team of Phoenix Children's new East Valley Campus in our Med Surg/PICU (MOSU) unit. This 24-bed pediatric inpatient unit will initially care for a primarily Med Surg and a lower acuity PICU patient population, with opportunities to support higher-acuity patients as the campus grows. We're seeking experienced inpatient RNs (at least 1 year) who are passionate about pediatric care, adaptable to a dynamic environment, and excited to help build a new team and culture from the ground up. Peds experience preferred, Must have a BLS and an active RN license in good standing. Nurses will receive extensive training and cross-training in acute care, step-down, and critical care concepts while supporting the future growth of pediatric services in the East Valley. Multiple FTE options are available, including .5, .6, .75, and .9 positions. All new hires will complete training at our Thomas Campus prior to transitioning to the East Valley location. New Grads will not be considered. This position works in collaboration with the healthcare team, patient and family to promote patient health through delivery of professional nursing care appropriate to patients age and condition as documented in the nursing and medical plans of care in accordance with evidence-based nursing and patient care practice standards and hospital goals, values and regulatory standards. Education Two year (ADN) degree in nursing, a four year degree (BSN) in nursing, or a Diploma Nursing degree. (Required) Bachelor's degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in an RN to BSN program. (Preferred) Certifications Current State of Arizona RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required) Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association prior to start date. (Required)
