BrightStar Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the oversight of clinical care delivery and quality assurance for our local team. In this role, you will provide clinical leadership, support patient care needs in the field when necessary, and help ensure our team continues to deliver the BrightStar Care promise — A Higher Standard of Care. This position may require occasional on-call responsibilities and field visits as needed to support operations and patient care. Responsibilities Coordinate client care by identifying patient needs through assessments and implementing individualized plans of care and supervisory processes. Provide hands-on patient care including initial assessments, reassessments, supervisory visits, infusions, and field support as needed. Support staffing coverage and assist in the field when necessary due to scheduling or operational needs. Participate in on-call responsibilities to support clinical operations and patient care. Communicate effectively with families, community partners, physicians, and healthcare providers to ensure quality and continuity of care. Review clinical documentation, progress notes, and care summaries for accuracy and compliance. Ensure compliance with BrightStar Care standards and Joint Commission requirements. Compile and maintain records and documentation for Joint Commission surveys and serve as the primary clinical contact during surveys. Oversee maintenance of client clinical records, reports, and statistics for evaluation and reporting purposes. Conduct monthly client chart audits using company-approved audit tools. Assist in developing organizational goals, policies, and procedures. Conduct ongoing assessments, skills evaluations, and competency reviews for nursing and caregiving staff. Supervise, educate, coach, and evaluate nursing personnel and caregivers. Conduct annual performance evaluations for nursing staff. Plan and implement orientation, in-service education, and ongoing training programs. Ensure clinical orientation and competency completion for all new nursing hires. Stay current with changes in home health care regulations and nursing best practices. Promote home health referrals and maintain strong community relationships.
