Corrections RNs will: Implement policies and proceduresEnsure inmate access to health care servicesPerform medical intake screeningsAdminister routine medications according to standards of careUnderstand medication uses, side effects and interactionsMonitor and treat patients who have co-occurring substance use/psychiatric illnessCollect blood and urine samples as necessaryAbility to function independentlyRespond to emergent situationsPsych understandingStrong assessment skillsPerform wellness check-upsAssist through detoxMonitor medical supplies
