24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months. 24 months of Medical Surgical/Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years. 3 months of Cerner experience is preferred.

Required Skills/Experience:
  • Reading basic tele strips; some experience with general and orthopedic surgical patients, CVA and TIA.
Required Credentials:
  • You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.
Special Requests:
  • Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
  • Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
  • Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
Unit Details:
  • Patient population includes COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetic, telemetry, TIA, CVA, and general, orthopedic, and spinal surgical patients.
  • No titratable drips; set-rate diltiazem is used.
  • Telemetry is monitored remotely; tele techs are on the 3rd floor. Monitor techs read and post strips. RNs are required to interpret strips and sign at least once a shift.
  • Uses BiPAP, CPAP, high flow, and some breathing treatments.
Shift & Scheduling:
  • Self-scheduling is used, with schedules made 4 weeks at a time and finalized after manager balancing.
  • 2 weekends per 4-week schedule.
  • For Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving, work 2 days and 1 eve or 2 eves and 1 day (Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day).
  • No call.
Floating Requirements:
  • ER float positions will require floating between different ER satellite locations in the area. A home base facility will try to be established, however this may not be the facility the clinician is regularly at. A schedule will be made in advance, so clinicians are aware of what location they'll be reporting to.
  • First to float.
May float to East Campus, and possibly PCU if qualified.
