We are seeking a compassionate, clinically strong Travel Correctional Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a secure correctional healthcare setting. This assignment is ideal for nurses with experience in Correctional Nursing, Medical-Surgical (Med Surg), Emergency Department (ER), Acute Care, Adult Inpatient Care, Telemetry, or Behavioral Health. As a Travel RN, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, evidence-based nursing care while working alongside physicians, advanced practice providers, mental health professionals, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. This position requires exceptional assessment skills, sound clinical judgment, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple patient needs in a fast-paced environment. Position Summary The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation. The RN will care for adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions while ensuring compliance with professional nursing standards, infection prevention guidelines, patient safety protocols, and evidence-based practices. The nurse will independently assess patient conditions, develop individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, respond to emergencies, educate patients, document care accurately, and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient outcomes. Primary Responsibilities Comprehensive Patient Assessment Perform complete physical and nursing assessments. Collect patient history and evaluate current health status. Assess physical, emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial needs. Monitor vital signs and recognize changes in patient condition. Identify actual and potential health risks. Prioritize nursing interventions based on patient acuity. Recognize signs of clinical deterioration and initiate appropriate interventions. Nursing Care Planning Develop individualized patient care plans. Establish measurable nursing goals. Implement physician orders and nursing interventions. Evaluate patient responses to treatment. Modify care plans as patient conditions change. Coordinate continuity of care throughout the assignment.
